Matcha Protein Smoothie Recipe
Matcha has a ton of amazing health benefits. It's rich in antioxidants, polyphenols and catechins (which leads to a stronger immune system), helps us to maintain healthy metabolisms, and actually has the ability to boost metabolism by 40% because it contains such a concentrated amount of EGCG, a thermogenic component that is believed to boost metabolism. Matcha also contains chlorophyll, which aids in the the bodies' detoxification process. This smoothie mixes both matcha and plant based protien (which also supports a healthy metabolism and boosts energy!) to create an incredibly tasty and nutrient dense snack.
- 1 handful ice
- 8 ounces almond milk
- 4 ounces coconut milk
- 1 1/2 cups spinach
- 1 tablespoon fresh mint leaves
- 1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 15 grams of a plant based vanilla protein (Vega is great quality)
- 1 teaspoon matcha
Blend all of the ingredients together and enjoy this pre- or post-workout smoothie!
