How to Prepare for Your Infrared Sauna Session

Drink a minimum of 8 oz. of water to prepare your body for an increase in core body temperature. Most people do not drink enough water to begin with and now that you are using an infrared sauna and sweating, it is even more important to stay properly hydrated.

Lightweight shorts and tee shirt are ok. We also offer complimentary wraps and towels to wear during your sauna session. More skin exposure is certainly preferable. We recommend brining clothing that is loose fitting and comfortable to put back on after your session.

During your sauna sessionDuring Your Session

You may not sweat much during your first 2-3 sauna sessions. This is normal for many people, as they haven’t had a recent history of sweating, and it takes a few sessions to “retrain” the body to do what comes naturally.

Take care not to overheat during your first few sessions. As the body continues to adjust, sweating can increase dramatically and body temperature regulation becomes more effective.

Keep in mind the temperature will continue to rise as you enjoy the sauna session. The optimal sauna temperature is 100°F to 130°F. Temperatures in this range enable the Solocarbon® heaters to provide the optimal concentration of infrared wavelengths, which are the key factor in bringing you the many health benefits of using a sauna, including detox, pain relief, skin purification, weight loss and stress relief.
